There's a diversity of methods, models, and approaches across the literature. We need a perceptive scientific leader to help us pick the best solutions for the rapid development of the next generation of therapeutics.Working across the Raven (RA Ventures) incubator and newcos, you will design and build our foundational ML technology across a diversity of applications. You will leverage proprietary ultra high throughput protein synthesis and screening technology, and our in-house team of scientific experts to plan our efforts in machine learning for therapeutics and protein design. You will couple state-of-the-art computational methods with proprietary high throughput wet lab methodology to implement design/build/test/learn systems and rapidly generate the next generation of therapeutics.We believe in empowering our teams with the autonomy to make impactful decisions, backed by the tools, data, and cross-functional expertise needed to drive those decisions forward. You will be part of a team of experts in genomics, protein design, data science, and beyond, working to accelerate the creation of the next generation of medicines.You will:

• Lead ML and Computational efforts in collaboration with diverse scientific teams to get to the right therapeutic as efficiently as possible.
• Design, build, and implement active learning systems for rapid therapeutics design and development on top of wet lab platforms developed by RA Ventures and its portfolio.
• Develop best in class models on top of public and proprietary datasets to support the creation of novel therapeutic candidates and more efficient learning.
• Build communities of practice across the Raven Portfolio to develop the next generation of active learning tech and applications in protein and therapeutics design.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in ML/AI and deep learning, through conferences, outside experts, and the literature, allowing us to leverage the best technology possible at any moment in time.
• Design the next generation of Raven newcos built on our proprietary wet lab capabilities and computational expertise.You are:
  • Deeply experienced in molecular machine learning, in proteins, small molecules, or other biological sequences and structures.
  • An accomplished scientific leader, with understanding of the wet lab that you can bring to bear for helping to design the next generation of computational models.
  • Empathetic, understanding how lab teams work, why they do what they do, and the best way to introduce novel computational technology to complement and augment their work.
  • Accustomed to thinking through and making the right tradeoffs between accuracy, efficiency, turnaround time, and practicality to most efficiently get to meaningful results.
  • Skilled at pairing the right ml algorithms and architectures with the right problem.
  • Curious, staying up-to-date with the literature, exploring novel computational methods to test, and identifying new ways they can be exploited to develop therapeutics.
