We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) at PepGen. The VP, IT will report into the CFO and will play an instrumental role in guiding the company through its growth phase and transition from R&D to commercial readiness. They will develop and implement comprehensive IT strategies and systems that enable the acceleration of business capabilities and objectives, ensuring a robust and scalable technology infrastructure and application portfolio. The VP, IT will leverage their extensive experience in the biotech or pharma sector, combined with strong leadership and collaboration skills, to drive digital transformation, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain regulatory compliance.Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the IT strategies and systems necessary to support the company's transition from R&D to commercial operations in a global, regulated environment.
• Identify and implement IT systems and processes that enhance productivity, efficiency, and compliance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with leaders and their teams to align IT initiatives with business goals ensuring technology solutions support growth and commercial readiness.
• Oversee digital transformation efforts, integrating new technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
• Ensure robust IT security measures are in place to protect company data and comply with regulatory requirements in all areas where the company operates.
• Provide strategic direction on enterprise AI and data management, including data retention and governance standards.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the IT team.
• Manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and return on technology investments.
• Establish and lead strong vendor management practices to ensure strategic alignment and value delivery.
• Ensure GXP computerized systems are optimized and compliant with US and EU regulations.Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 15+ years of relevant IT experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role within the biotech or pharma industry.
  • Proven track record of leading IT organizations through transitions from R&D to commercial readiness.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, including HIPAA, SOX, GXP, and GDPR.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a diverse IT team.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital transformation and the integration of new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of articulating IT strategies and solutions to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive results through collaboration and influence.Note: This is not a remote role.
