Job SummaryThe CT Technologist I performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Operates CT Scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.Key Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam.
• Properly identifies patients and assists them while offering a brief explanation of the procedures.
• Interviews patients for a complete medical history and reviews their EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical history.
• Assumes responsibility for the exam from beginning to end and prepares patients for the procedure with a full explanation.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols and evaluates the technical quality of images.
• Recognizes abnormal anatomy and processes any additional images or measurements as instructed.
• Performs basic patient care functions and informs nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition.
• Practices proper sterile technique and radiation safety standards.Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire.
