Responsibilities:

--- Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process
--- Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
--- Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings
--- Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
--- Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases
Key Responsibilities:
--- Represent clients with confidence and professionalism in court hearings, mediations, depositions, and negotiations.
--- Draft comprehensive legal documents, including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, and judgments for a variety of family law cases.
--- Manage sensitive and high-stakes matters such as divorce, child custody, child support, and domestic violence cases.
--- Develop customized legal strategies to meet each client's unique needs and goals.
--- Divide marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
--- Maintain organized, up-to-date client files and provide exceptional communication to keep clients informed throughout the process.

Qualifications:

--- Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
--- Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred
--- Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
--- Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)
--- Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
What We're Looking For:
--- Experience: At least 3 years of family law experience, handling matters such as divorce, custody, and domestic violence.
--- Empathy and Composure: Ability to work effectively in emotional, high-stress situations while maintaining a client-centered approach.
--- Negotiation Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills to advocate for clients in and out of court.
--- Knowledge Base: Familiarity with Massachusetts family law, including property division and spousal support. Knowledge, experience, and desire to practice a second area of law.
--- Team Player: Collaborative attitude with a commitment to delivering excellent legal services.
