Software Manager/.NET Programmer
Position Purpose
This position is responsible for supporting the Investment Office s
custom intranet and third-party software packages. This position
will manage existing applications, help in the purchase and
installation of off-the-shelf solutions, and write C#.NET and SQL
code to close the gaps between new and existing software
programs.
The perfect candidate will be a well-rounded problem solver
interested in working on a mix of software and database
maintenance, light network maintenance, and custom intranet
programming. This person will have excellent people skills and an
energetic approach, finding effective solutions to complex
problems. An interest in financial markets is essential; some
experience with financial terminology is preferred.
This position is also responsible for assisting with office
technical support for 20 staff, triaging issues or referring users
to the Help Desk as appropriate. Additional work will include
checking log files, being the first responder on errors reported by
users, monitoring incoming data feeds, etc. This person must also
be comfortable writing and maintaining documentation for software
and best practices as needed.
Demonstrated ability for self-direction is required. This position
works independently with some oversight from the part-time Senior
Developer Database Manager. There is the possibility of
temp-to-permanent, depending on resources and performance.
Requirements
5+ Years programming multi-tiered projects with a minimum of 2
years using C#.NET
Demonstrable experience developing intranets, extranets and
websites
Extensive Visual Studio experience with solutions, projects, custom
user controls, etc.
Extensive experience with SQL Server databases: queries, stored
procedures, functions, etc.
Experience with CSS, JavaScript and HTML
Experience developing projects under source control
Excellent people skills, and the ability to relate technical issues
to non-technical staff
Strong written and verbal skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Up-beat, can-do attitude

Financial background preferred
Experience integrating Telerik UI controls a plus
