Bakery Cake Designer:

At Whole Foods Market, we're seeking a skilled Bakery Cake Designer to join our team. As a Bakery Cake Designer, you will be responsible for creating and decorating cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items. Your artistic talents will be utilized to build and finish all specialty bakery goods, ensuring every detail meets our high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures to meet business demand.
• Prioritize production lists and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Merchandise and showcase products in the sales display case to satisfy and delight customers.
  Skill Requirements:
  
  To be successful in this role, you must possess efficient cake and pastry decorating skills, including intermediate piping techniques and the ability to create decorative flowers and borders. You should also be able to apply proper technique when using various icings and have basic math skills for recipe conversions and modifications. Strong communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team are also essential.
  
  Experience:
  
  Minimum of 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience is required. Prior experience within a professional bakery or grocery retail is preferred. Completion of the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program or equivalent experience is also necessary.
  
  Physical Requirements:
  
  This role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday. You must also be able to work in wet and dry conditions and use tools and equipment safely.
