Produce Team Leader Job DescriptionJob Summary: We are seeking a
highly skilled and experienced Produce Team Leader to join our team
at Whole Foods Market. As a Produce Team Leader, you will be
responsible for providing overall leadership to the Produce team,
ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.Key
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management: Hold ATLs, supervisors, and
team members accountable for delivering outstanding customer
service, build a positive work environment, and make hiring and
separation decisions.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor and achieve sales, purchasing,
and labor targets, maintain proper product assortment,
merchandising, and inventory control, and establish and maintain
collaborative working relationships with department leaders and
vendors.
- Customer Service: Foster a positive environment of outstanding
teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale, maintain
awareness of customer flows and needs, and direct team members as
necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
- Team Development: Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and
counsel team members in a manner that sustains a high-performance
team and minimizes turnover, provide timely, thorough, and
thoughtful performance evaluations, and consistently communicate
and model WFM vision and goals.Requirements:
- Experience: 24+ months retail experience, including 12+ months
of team leadership experience.
- Skills: Advanced knowledge of products, buying, pricing,
merchandising, and inventory management, excellent interpersonal,
motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills, and
proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related
applications.
- Certifications: Food safety certification, if not currently
certified, commit to completing certification within 6
months.Working Conditions:
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk
6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday, and work in a wet and cold
environment.
- Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including
nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Whole Foods Market is an
