(Premium differentials offered.)Advanced Practice Manager: Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Role ScopeThe Advanced Practice Manager will provide leadership to the advanced practice providers (APPs) on the Vascular and Transplant services. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to implementing and monitoring institutional and departmental goals and objectives for APPs that align with the strategic direction of the organization, implementing individual performance evaluations, overseeing APP scheduling, Kronos payroll, and resource utilization in collaboration with surgical residencies. Participates in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes for new APPs within the management area. Assures timely credentialing and re-credentialing (including OPPE/FPPE) of the APPs by the Medical Staff Office in compliance with Medical Staff By-laws and Rules and Regulations.Clinical responsibilities may include managing multiple patients with varied critical illnesses, comprehensive physical assessments, interpretation of diagnostic results, daily progress notes, patient/family education, and meetings.Shift: Full Time: 40 hours Weekend/Off Shift/Holiday rotation required. (Premium differentials offered.)QualificationsAdvanced Practitioner Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master's program
  • Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
  • Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC.
  • AGACNP Board Certification as an acute care nurse practitioner and/or critical care AP experience.
  • Federal DEA and CT Controlled Substance Registration
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience within Vascular or Transplant Surgery.
  • ACLS required.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively interact with medical/nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to learn and demonstrate proficiency in invasive procedures.
  • Qualified operative first assisting.
