Job Description:

Summary: Order and merchandise produce, participate in regional programs, and maintain inventory control. Key responsibilities include purchasing, monitoring inventory, controlling spoilage, and maximizing sales potential. Additional duties include customer service, maintaining a clean environment, and performing opening and closing duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Purchase and replenish produce through proper buying procedures.
  
• Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner.
  
• Control spoilage and shrink, achieve turn goals, and participate in inventory.
  
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking and merchandising products.
  
• Ensure orders for product are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns.
  
• Oversee customer special order procedure.
  
• Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs, and model suggestive selling techniques.
  
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.
  
  
  Skills:
  
  • 
    
  • Extensive produce product knowledge.
    
  • Strong basic math skills.
    
  • Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards.
    
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures.
    
    
    Experience:
    
    • 
      
    • 12+ months retail experience.
      
      
      Physical Requirements:
      
      • 
        
      • Lift 50 pounds.
        
      • Stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day.
        
      • Use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
        
      • Work in wet and dry conditions.
        
      • Use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, and other heavy machinery.
